Soil Intelligence
How soil testing works on Chondohub
Soil testing is a professional service available through the platform. A farmer requests a test, a verified agronomist or laboratory conducts it, and results are delivered as a structured report linked to the farm's field records. The cost is charged on the supply side — the agronomist or lab is billed per test, not the farmer through their subscription.
Requesting a soil test
From the platform's field management view, a farmer or cooperative manager can request a soil test for a specific field. The request goes to verified professionals offering soil testing in the relevant area. You can also browse and contact soil testing providers directly through the expert directory at /marketplace/experts.
How results are recorded
The agronomist enters results — nutrient levels, pH, organic matter content, and agronomic recommendations — directly into the platform against the farmer's field record. The farmer receives the full report and can act on recommendations within the same interface where their crop and livestock records live.
Linking results to farm decisions
Soil test data is stored against the field record and available to Chondohub's AI decision support. When the farmer asks about fertiliser application or crop suitability, the platform can draw on the actual soil profile from the field — rather than giving generic guidance. Over successive seasons, soil test history builds a picture of how the field is changing.
Pricing
Soil testing is not gated by subscription tier — it is available to all active Chondohub farms. The agronomist or laboratory sets the test fee, which is charged at the point of service. Pricing varies by provider and test scope; see the expert directory for listed providers and their rates.
